S.A.E. 45o FLARE

USED WITH
Copper, brass, aluminum, plastic and welded steel hydraulic tubing that can be flared.

PRESSURE
Depends on tubing used. Will stand burst pressure of standard tube – up to 5,000 P.S.I. with bundyweld (double flared) and 3,500 P.S.I. with copper tube depending on size.

TEMPERATURE
-65o TO +250oF AT MAXIMUM OPERATING PRESSUES.

VIBRATION
Good vibration characteristics depending on tubing used.

APPROVALS
Approved by Underwriters’ Laboratories No. AU-1344 for hazardous liquid, fuel equipment.
Meets specifications of the Society of Automotive Engineers (S.A.E.) Tube Fittings Standards. 1/8” thru 5/8”.

ADVANTAGES
Low cost, availability, reusability. Available in long and short nut styles.

TYPICAL APPLICATIONS
Fuel, oil, air, water lines, LP and natural gas lines, hazardous liquids or gaseous chemical not corrosive to tubing material and brass.

INVERTED FLARE

USED WITH
Copper, brass aluminum, plastic and welded steel hydraulic tubing that can be flared.

Has been used at 400oF at pressure under 1,000 P.S.I.

VIBRATION
Excellent vibration characteristics depending on tubing used.

APPROVALS
Approved by Underwriters’ Laboratories No. AU-1344 for hazardous liquid, fuel equipment.
Meets specifications of the Society of Automotive Engineers (S.A.E.) Tube Fittings Standards 1/8” thru 5/8”.

ADVANTAGES
Very low cost. Seats and threads are recessed and protected. Shorter bodies fit tighter places. Short nut affords very close tube bends. Reusable. Broad selections of styles of fittings. Nut available in brass and steel.

TYPICAL APPLICATIONS
Automotive brake, oil and fuel lines, LP and natural gas connections. Hazardous liquids, air, water, fuel, oil, or gaseous chemicals not corrosive to tubing material and brass.

PIPE

USED WITH
Brass, steel, iron and aluminum pipe.

PRESSURE
1,200 P.S.I. operating. Bursting pressure to 15,000 P.S.I. on 1/8” and ¼” pipe, 5,000 P.S.I. on larger sizes.

TEMPERATURE
-65o TO +250oF

VIBRATION
Water, air, oil, natural gas and liquefied petroleum products.

APPROVALS
Meet specification of the American Standards Association (S.A.E.) Brass pipe fittings are manufactured to S.A.E. standards.

ADVANTAGES
Availability

TYPICAL APPLICATIONS
Not good for sever vibration service.

COMPRESSION

USED WITH
Copper, brass, aluminum, and plastic tubing. Not recommended for steel tubing. Soft plastic stubbing requires tube support inside and in-line sleeve.

PRESSURE
Burst pressure up to 2,000 P.S.I. on 1/8” to ¼” tubing, 1,000 P.S.I. on 5/16” to ½” tubing, and 750 P.S.I. on ¾” to 1” size.

TEMPERATURE
-65o TO +250oF

VIBRATION
Poor vibration characteristics. Long nut improves vibration factors.

APPROVALS
Meets specifications of the Society of Automotive Engineers (S.A.E.) Tube Fittings Standards. 1/8” thru 5/8”.

ADVANTAGES
Low cost, availability, reusability. Available in long and short nut styles.

TYPICAL APPLICATIONS
Air, oil, water.

PRECISION GRIP

USED WITH
Polyethylene, nylon copper and plastic.

PRESSURE
Depends on tubing used. Will stand burst pressures.

TEMPERATURE
-65o TO +250oF

VIBRATION
Excellent vibration characteristics depending on tubing used.

APPROVALS
Meets industrial standards for fittings for plastic tubing.

ADVANTAGES
Low cost, no flaring required, excellent reusability, easy to assemble, not necessary to remove nut and sleeve.

TYPICAL APPLICATIONS
Air control systems, instrumentation, air and lubrication systems.

THREADED SLEEVE (DOUBLE COMPRESSION)

USED WITH
Copper, brass, aluminum and plastic tubing.  Not recommended for steel tubing. Soft plastic stubbing requires tube support inside and in-line sleeve.

PRESSURE
500 P.S.I. maximum for 1/8” to ¼” sizes, 250 P.S.I. on 5/16” to 3/8” sizes.

TEMPERATURE
-65o TO +250oF

VIBRATION
Very poor vibration characteristics.

APPROVALS
None.

ADVANTAGES
Low cost, no flaring.  Easy to assemble.

TYPICAL APPLICATIONS
Air, oil and water lines. Popular on grease lubrication systems.
